Border on Surreal
American painter and photographer Sam Grant. His works draw influence from both vintage looking images as well as contemporary pop culture elements. This culminates in his collage compositions, which have been said to “border on surreal”. His pieces convey his own wild imagination; one that speaks to a time before ours. Despite some his paintings being realistic, he still renders the settings within each painting with a whimsical appeal. Witty texts are also included in his collage to contemporize these retro poster-like paintings.
