Robert Burt (Founder & Curator)
Born in 1962 in Hollywood, Robert Burt is a self-taught artist and has achieved extensive experiences in being the driving force behind his numerous self-founded, bohemian projects. Over 20 years in the 80-90’s, Robert founded and promoted four avant-garde clubs in California: Activity, Atlas, Go and Geraldine. It lasted until 1994, when Robert began to study ceramics under the guidance of two master painters and sculptors.
Later this same year, he opened his first gallery and studio – called “Garage” – in San Diego. He maintained it for nine years until 2003, then moved to Barcelona to open Base Elements Urban Art Gallery.
Since then, Base Elements has attracted urban artists from both Barcelona and all over the world and continues to grow in popularity!
